free PC to phone call software needed

there are several you can choose from symply goto your application > add/remove(ubuntu software)

open the dialog and then check the box to say all available instead of canonical maintained

under internet you will find several >ie# for example ekiga

youll have to find the one thats right for you

I appreciate. but what i want is I will use Ekiga softphone software to call the landline or 2G GSM phone of the other country. So both people don't have to be online to use that.

For example, when i want to call my mum , she is old and no computer experience. she just has land line or GSM and no internet at home. I would like to call her away from remote area within my country where normal phone lines are not good and only internet is available.

To be clear, I have never used skype. but According to skype, skype to skype is ok and free as long as both sides are online free to call each other like google talk or yahoo or msn.

But from skype to Phone service is not free. we have to pay.
But I have never used that. because in our country, credit cards or online payments are not available. our banks are not linked with world wide banks for citizen's payments.

That is why I am seeking free internet phone software to call land line or 2G GSM . FYI. our GSMs are only just phone service. for SMS, can be sent only locally within our country. There is no carrier services like other country.

So could you please suggest me any free internet to phone service ? calling to no SIP phones from other side. just normal land line or 2G pure GSM

I would say the same as kpk187: as far as I know, such a service does not exist. Using the land network has a cost, and the operator would not let anyone access land lines for free.

so if calling to land line is not possible for free, how about calling to 2G network GSM ?

Calling to 2G or GSM networks also is not free. It costs money to connect an Internet call to a landline or GSM phone. As of right now, there does not appear to be any free Internet to GSM or landline calling.
