How to change the kernel in the installation CD?

Asked by Pavel

Dear Ubuntu friends,

How can I change the kernel in the installation image?

Why do I need this:
Ubuntu 10.04 comes with the kernel 2.6.32-21,
which is very unstable in my system (ASUS N71JA-TY034X with Intel Core i5, ATI Mobility Radeon HD5730).
It crashes in a few minutes after boot.
When I upgrade the kernel to 2.6.34-999-generic, it works O.K.
However as the system crashes quite often before the upgrade is done,
I would like to change the kernel in the installation CD directly.

Thanks for any advice.

Pavel
