I reinstalled my sons PC and now it is sluggish

Asked by oocevin

My sons and my java6 on our PC would not load all the way.

So to fix this I reinstalled 10.4 on both of them. Mine is
playing just fine with speed. But my sons still will not
load and the whole PC is slugging as all heck. How or
what can I do to fix this?

Is there a way to totally wipe my sons PC clean as
like bran new. I do use erase and use all of the CD!

But I was told every time I reinstall it leaves stuff on
it. So if this is the cause, how can I wipe clean then
reinstall on a clean PC?

It is very quick and easy

Using live install cd at install steps when requested simply choose use entire disk...

Hope this helps

I do use Live CD at install, Use all of disk. But is there stuff left on any ways?

If not I do not know why the first time I installed 10.4 it was super fast, now
sluggish?

Sometimes there are timed background process can made Ubuntu very slowly so when you see the computer go slow please check the running app by opening a terminal from applications → accessories → terminal and typing:

top

You will see the active running app processes and it help to indagate.

Please tell how many installed ram do you have on the slow pc.

Thank you
