Kwin effects are not reactivated at KDE startup

Hardware configuration :
ATI Radeon HD 5xxx series

Software configuration :
Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx
ATI Catalyst 10.4

Problem description :
I have configure Kwin desktop effects by ticking "Enable desktop effects" in the "System Configuration/Desktop" Tool.
All effects are working well.
But after rebooting my PC or loging out from KDE, the effects are not maintained, whereas the option "Enable desktop effects" is still ticked.
I have to untick and tick again the option at each new KDE session.

Does a solution existe for this problem or is it a known bug ?
