What is a list of network configuration files in Ubuntu 7.04?

Hi all!

What is a list of network configuration files in Ubuntu 7.04? In particular, how can I configure DNS-server via command line?
I failed to find /etc/hosts.conf & /etc/resolv.conf

/etc/hosts and /etc/resolv.conf
You don find the latter because on a normally configured system this file should not be necessary.

Thank you, I manually created the resolv.conf and the problem has gone.
