Hey Michael Wainainah,

Just download Wubi http://wubi-installer.org/

Hi :)

Ok, wojox has the literal right answer there but i think there is a mis-communication going on. The wubi install is only meant as a fairly short-term demo version of Ubuntu.

You can use Xp to make a proper dual-boot install of Ubuntu by first downloading Ubuntu from
http://www.ubuntulinux.org/
Then get a stack of the cheapest "write once" blank Cds that you can reasonably get. My local supermarket has them somewhere near the cheese for less than the price of most of the cheeses. For some reason more expensive Cds don't work quite so well & Dvds usually need to be made at tooo high speeds. Slower the better. The aim is to make 1 Ubuntu Cd that you can boot the machine with, this guide should help :)

If the LiveCd session works fine and easily then use the installer on the LiveCd's desktop to install "alongside" Windows. At about stage 5 or 6 or something you get to the "Partitioning Section". This is where you make sure it does NOT use the whole drive! This guide gives even more detail in case of difficulties

Please let us know how this goes or let us know how far you get or ask us anything else especially if there's something you are uncertain about
Good luck and regards from

Hi again :)

If you have already done the Wubi install then it is reasonably easy to "migrate it to it's own partition" using this guide part 8 of section 8

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Can you help with this problem?
