Google based websites don't work either in Gchrome or firefox in 10.04

Hello All

 I had installed 10.04 recently, i have these problems as below:

1. only all the google based websites ( gmail.com, google search) dont open up in either firefox or google chrome and throw an error timed out or name might have changed.... but all the other websites open up fine at the same time... this happens very often...sometimes they work and suddenly it starts troubling

2. Also when i check the network connections my wired connection status shows: "never used" even though iam browsing internet

cat /etc/resolv.conf

yeah thats good. Ok try this

gksudo gedit /etc/resolv.conf

delete all the contents and put these 2 lines:

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4

Close gedit then try the web again, is it better??
