Not much more required at this point besides patience. I'm sure the number of requests for CDs has gone up with each new release of Ubuntu. You can always download a live CD to install Ubuntu while you wait.

Hi :)

To deal with people downloading the new release the number of servers in the UK was doubled compared to last year and they still had a wobbly moment! Ok, this is not a fair comparison because the previous year's release was not an LTS so a lot more people will be more keen to upgrade to this years release anyway, but it has shown that popularity is increasing dramatically.

Shipit has been overwhelmed with orders again and even when thye do approve & ship it then you can still expect it to take quite some time to arrive. A faster alternative is to order a copy from their shop
http://shop.canonical.com/index.php?cPath=17
It is still heavily subsidised and they send a pack of 5 for a lower price than most people are charging for single copies of Ubuntu 10.04. Some of those could then be sold on to friends or people but i would start with only a small quantity
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/selling.html

Note this idea about ordering a quantity and then selling them on is more viable with the 10.04 because it has 3 years support rather than the normal 18months. So it means that you have a lot longer to hold onto the Cd and can afford to sell them quite slowly

Before doing an upgrade please check the LiveCd session works on your machine

also it's wise to check the md5sum

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
