The release will be supported by the repos and community for longer. Normal releases are supported for 18 months then dropped. LTS is supported for 3 YEARS. They are also supported 5 years on the server releases.

i know this release will be supported by the repos and community for longer, that's why they are called long term support :)

you can read here :https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LTS
The LTS designation applies only to specific subsets of the Ubuntu archive. The LTS may not apply to all editions and remixes of Ubuntu

which subset ?
which edition ?

This kinda clarifys it:

For example, for 8.04 LTS, Kubuntu chose to move to KDE 4.0 and didn't issue an LTS release. In 10.04, the Netbook Edition will not be an LTS. The project will decide which editions will be LTS early in the LTS development cycle.

So Kubuntu 8.04 was NOT LTS but Ubuntu 8.04 and XUbuntu 8.04 are.

Can you help with this problem?
