i don`t know . is it in your desk drawer ? Sorry i just really want to ask that . IF you are talking about tommy note it is listed under application = accessories , then you can right click it and add to desktop,or you can really add it to a drawer under entry menu .

I went through every thing in application could not find note pad. The one you
open and write in it and can save. Like the one in XP

i went to software center and in the little window in the uper right corner typed in note pad and it showed three . so you could look at them and take your pick to which would do the job you need .then you could add to desk top .

Cevin,

If the Applications menu doesn't have an Accessories sub-menu - something is certainly wrong (don't know a solution for that BTW).

Gedit is the typical GUI text editor, similar to Notepad on a Microsoft platform. Alt+F2 and type "gedit" to start it if it's not in the menus, it *should* be in Applications / Accessories however.

If you literally mean Windows notepad, if wine is installed - Applications / Wine / Programs / Accessories / Notepad.

Best of luck,
George

I can't see Accessories in my launcher. But when I go to Add and Delete and look in, I can
see what is in I THINK. Put I do not see Wine or Note Pad. Is Advance Text Editor the same.
How do I install Wine?
