Hello

In 10.04 I tried to install Adobe Flash Player. But unfortunately without success.

Can you give me hints how I can do this? And please step by step. Thanks in advance.

go into the Software Center and install the restricted extras for ubuntu. This includes MP3 support, Flash, Java and some other useful stuff that is not Open Source Software or uses patented technologies.

Hi :)

Err, better than just the restricted extras is to go through the whole of the Medibuntu guide to get it all done in one easy session
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

However the specific package we are talking about is not directly installed by the restricted extras so just go up to the top taskbar and click on

System - Administration - Synaptic

to get more precise control over what packages you are dealing with. Use either search tool to find "flash player" and completely uninstall the adobe "non-free" ones that your system thinks are currently installed, click "Apply" to complete that part first. Then re-install the non-free adobe flash player and this should bring it up to date.

Most times i try to install the one from the Adobe website it grumbles that i already have a more recent version installed. Generally it is better to get packages from the repositories rather than from the website even tho that usually means using slightly older versions. In this case the repos give us the more recent version than the projects own site!

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

But I have another problem regarding Rhytmbox. In few minutes I'm going to post it.

Thanks a lot!
