No Sound

Asked by Suman Rishi

I have just installed Ubuntu 10.4 for the first time & after installation, my Microsoft LX-3000 worked OK, however after a restart, there is no sound at all, not even on VLC/On line/System Sounds etc...i disabled my onboard sound card, still no success.
Sound Preference say all is OK
LX 3000 is set to Analog Stereo Output, I've changed it to 'DIGITAL STEREO (IEC958) OUTPUT + ANALOG MONO INPUT
Still no Sound..

PLZ HELP!!

PS: Sound works OK on XP PRO on LX 3000.

Hi :)

First please work through the Medibuntu worksheet to try to get all your multimedia issues sorted out in one easy(ish) session
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

Also it might be worth working through this trouble-shooting guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure

Please let us know how any of this goes
Good luck and regards from
