Daniel,

Verify that you have ubuntu-restricted-extras installed on your system (if you can play some WMAs then you probably already do).

You may be running into a DRM issue, which probably cannot be solved on linux.

Best of luck,
George

If you can play some MP3 and some WMA, George Standish should be right talking you about DRM. I fell under a similar issue when formatting a laptop for a friend. The music was copied into a USB drive and then put back in the PC, and after that some songs couldn't be played. I had no answer to explain this behavior until I tried to open those audio files with Windows, which warned me that I needed to pay for getting authorization to listen to the songs because their license was expired due to too many copy/paste between different drives. Try to open one of those files on a Windows system and you will be confirmed whether this is the case or not.

Can you help with this problem?
