RFC 5625 states it is 512 octets.

Not really an Ubuntu question but no problem.

If you want to speed up your internet you can install dnsmasq and tell network manager to use 127.0.0.1 as the first DNS. You will need to add other DNS servers as you will have disabled recieving DNS servers via DHCP so also add 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
