Unable to login?

I recently installed ubuntu 10.04. I also some packages from synaptic. After that i rebooted but i m not able to login now.

Are you getting an access denied message or does the login screen just not come up?

Reboot and hold the escape key then enter the root shell. Post the contents of your /etc/pam.d/gdm here . . . the problem is most likely there.

I am able to login now. Actually i mad change to /etc/pam.d/gdm. Undo the
same file has solved my problem.
