No, all fixed thanks to all of you guys...

BUT!

For some reason my FireFox does not go all the way up
to the top of my monitor. When I try to drag it up it wants
to get smaller. Then when I resize it, it still does not go
all the way up to the top.

This is what actionparsnip proposed the following answer:
press alt+f2 and copy the command, if your screen uses a different res
to 1024x768 then change the values

And

actionparsnip proposed the following answer:
If you know your screen size you can use

firefox -height Yvalue -width Xvalue

e.g.

firefox -height 768 -width 1024

etc.

I need to know in new to all of this in clear English...

I installed Google Chrome.

Same problem...

And I just found out that ThunderBird
is doing the same, not opening to the top
of my DeskTop.

So FireFox ThunderBird Chrome is acting
the same.

Small or big, will not open all the way so it
covers my entire desk top..

It's like I opened a window and changed
something in which I did not.

so, possibly u have issue with ur video drivers (2d) or metacity.
could u convert to bug our discussion 'Create bug report'. u will retrieve bug number <#bug>

after report ur details (possibly to Xorg developers) by following command:

$ apport-collect <#bug> -p xorg
