which file system?

I was wondering which file system would allow me to read and write from two different operating systems.

Windows XP
Feisty Fawn (Ubuntu 7.04)

Hello,

Both NTFS and FAT32 file systems have read/write access in Linux. Take a look at [1].

Feisty ubuntu can read an write to the windows XP drive. However windows cant read or write to linux

Windows uses FAT(File allocation table) FAT 32 and NTFS(New technology file system) as in windows xp and vista... And linux uses file systems namely ext3 and ReiserFS (an ISO 9660 standard file system) which has a completely different architecture compared to fat or ntfs.. So it will NOT be recognised by windows.. Whereas fat32/NTFS have read/write access in linux.. Take a look at the artle mentioned above...
