upgrade to 10

Asked by Ken Noel

I upgraded from 9 to 10 Kubuntu. Now KDE never loads. I thought it was the Nvidia driver. Can't install the Nvidia driver I get several errors. I tried downloading the most recent Nvidia driver that didn't work too. I also changed the the Low resolution or what ever that default xconfig is and that would bring up the desktop. After logging in I'm asked for my password from the wallet. Normally my desktop would be loaded by that time but I still see the login back ground. The desktop never loads.

Need help soon this is my work computer. I had to put to my windows partition to send this question. Ubunutu has been good for 3 years now. This is the first screw up on an upgrade. I hope we can get if fixed today (now).

Thanks,
ken

i don't know if it gone help or not but when i was using kubuntu most applications ask me for the wallet password and they did not open until i close the wallet program that is running in the background of the system.

also try to run this command:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg-video-nv

then restart

sudo init 6
