Upgrade problem from Breezy

Asked by Jan Erik

Hi,

I have a system running breezy which is completely up to date.
When I now try to use the upgrade manager to upgrade to Dapper,
I get the following error message when preparing the upgrad:

Failed to fetch http://free.linux.hp.com/~brett/seveas/freenx/dists/ubuntu-seveas/freenx/binary-i386/Packages.gz 404 Not Found

I does not look as if I have a network problem since I am able to send this support request..
(It seems like it has already downloaded 48 files when this happens?
says; downloading 1 of 48 .. downloading 48 of 48 files.
And this download of 48 files happens 3 times before it stops with the error message)
I hope the last description is ot to confusing....

It was a repository that we had added locally that gave this problem. When removing the repository from sources list, then I got to continue.
Should there have been some other warnings or workaround in the installer?

Hi.

That is expected. That repository you were using is not official, and it seems to be offline. Removing it is the way to go.

You should only setup new repositories if you know what you are doing and, specially, if you can disable it. Good to see you could :-)

Good luck with Dapper!

Can you help with this problem?
