I have this same problem too. I've just upgraded from 9.10, and haven't been able to get my blackberry tour (9630) to be recognized by ubuntu. It doesn't let me browse the files on my sd card like 9.10 did. I can use btool and sync and back up the system, but besides that ubuntu doesn't know it exists. :(

I've just recently figured out a what was giving me problems with my blackberry connecting. I had an application called "bcharge" in my /usr/sbin/ which would block/interrupt the usb interface when my blackberry was connected. I just did sudo mv /usr/sbin/bcharge /usr/sbin/bcharge.bak and my blackberry has connected successfully every time. I'm not sure it this is the best fix but it works. It looks like you have the same issue, magesnz. Let me know it that works for you. [I'm now successfully connected to the internet via tethering to my blackberry to post this]

I'm having the same issue. demsg dump for me gives the same info as for magesnz. However, for me, with barry-util installed and bcharge as...well...bcharge, it will mount for me, then spontaneously unmount a bit later.

Thanks.
