USB modem Module usbcore error

I installed 9.10 two week before Lucid and I am new in ubuntu. When I was connect in 9.10 I use of a command : eciadsl-start and could connected . I have a USB modem and now in Lucid , I have this error:

eciadsl-start

FATAL: Module usbcore not found.

/usr/bin/eciadsl-start: line 263: fatal: command not found
cat: /proc/bus/usb/devices: No such file or directory
Warning: tun/tap module does not exist

grep: /proc/bus/usb/devices: No such file or directory
grep: /proc/bus/usb/devices: No such file or directory
ERROR: modem not found

I ask about it in a forum and a friend answer report a bug but I'm not sure about it.
