Ubuntu 10.4 doesn´t finish instalation - video corruption

The instalation doesn´t finish, even demo boot works.
Even using the safe mode (or any other mode) the screen goes in a distorted "caracter rain".
Same error everytime.
My notebook is a Positivo Z80
Motherboard Clevo 540ss
Video SIS351

This notebook model is one of the most common notebook selling in Brazil today. It is used in a governament program for teachers and students.
If my problem is solved, many more people can get benefit from it.

Did you MD5 test the file you downloaded?
Did you run the CD verifier is you used a DVD/CD to install?

hi sorry your having trouble on the intial setup there is an option line with f commands(f4 etc)

you can choose help for alternative install setting

there not as pretty but should work also

you may consider the alternative boot disk which does not have the pretty gui (graphic user inerphase)

again sorry if its a cd you made try burning at a different speed as well

dont give up!!!
