Standard Modem installation

Hi,

I am From Sri Lanka and there are thousands of people in here are using CDMA phones to connect internet with inbuilt standard modems like 19200bps.I have not a good knowledge about ubuntu and I was unable to use internet using my CDMA phone.but in window it is a very easy task to add a standard modem.pls pay your kindly attention.

It is about mobile broadband, unable to find a answer to my CDMA modem problem..
