Change authentication policy for CPU Frequency switcher

Asked by johnnynyquist

I'm old-fashioned and still running Karmic (9.10) on my desktop machine. I use the Gnome CPU Frequency Switcher applet to control CPU frequency. I would like to be able to change CPU frequency settings without entering my password, although I still want password authentication required for other tasks.

For commandline commands I'd edit /etc/sudoers to change the policy. Is there something similar for desktop applets?

This may help. It will change from ondemand (default setting) to performance persistently. http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9050747&postcount=2

That doesn't help at all. I'm interested in changing authentication policy permanently, not CPU frequency.
