Hello!

0. What OS you are on? What are Synatptics and Software Center versions?

1. From where are you installing application - from Synaptics or from Software Center?

2. If from Software Center, then try to install it from Synaptics and if you have enough knowledge, get more detailed error info and then search ubuntuforums.com ... ;)

3. If you information provided by Synaptics totally understandable for youy, fill in Bug Report throught launchpad.net "Report a Bug" .

4. If you feel you can try to solve problem by yourself, go ahead and try to check for PPAs, containing later and possibly fixed package ( especially if you are on Lucid Lynx Release Candidate ).

5. It is always smart choice to install at least Final versions of Linux OSes. If you do understand potential risks using not fully developed, tested, and fixed software, you may try to use Betas and Release Candidates. It is only 2 days until Lucid Lynx 10.04 Final is ready!
