Input/Output Error No.5 When installing ubuntu 9

Asked by candy man_2003

Hi all,

I tried to install ubunto beside my XP OS but after launching and while installing ubuntu I had an error telling me that there is an error for input output.
and tells me to try to clean the CD reader lens or it can be a faulty hardware / old hard disk needs to be replaced, or I have to move the system to a cooler environment.

I cleaned the CD reader Lens and even replaced my hard disk and still got the same error.
I don't even know what the notifier means by moving the system to a cooler environment.

please help me to have ubuntu on my laptop because I really like it.

thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Maybe the cd is damaged try to install with another cd. you can download an iso here http://releases.ubuntu.com/ and burn to a cd or a use it with a usb key.

If none of the options with CD works, try creating a usb boot stick and install from that.
refer:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick

or use this simple program:
http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
