:Bootsplash and logout splash problem in Lucid

Asked by Myroslav

I have recently upgraded to Lucid amd64 Beta 2. Everything seems to be working fine, but the boot splash screen shows distorted colours before arriving at the login screen. The same distorted colours appear briefly on logout, and the machine shuts down properly. This seems to be a plymouth issue. Do I wait for updates to see this issue solved or is there something I can do?
I am using GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 integrated video card and NVIDIA UNIX x86 Kernel Module 195.36.15 driver.

Log a bug, Lucid is still in Beta so has LOTS of bugs and is not ready for the masses.

I use the same onboard video chip / chipset but I removed plymouth as I find it completly useless to have a glossy boot thing and boot in pure text mode so cannot recreate but a bug log will help

Have you tried running:

sudo nvidia-xconfig

then rebooting, if it makes no difference or screws your graphics then run:

sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf

and you will be back where you are now

Thank you for your response. I had already found most of these sites. This problem has taken up some my time and I have a suspicion that it could take a lot more time with little chance for a successful solution. I'm a little discouraged and rather than waste time better spent on other things, will mark this thread as closed. It seems that I have the bad luck of running into complicated screw ups every time there is an ubuntu upgrade.
