Need to change terminal display colors for listing of files etc

Asked by Joe

Under the new default profile for the Terminal emulator in Lucid, when I enter "ls" the listing of directories is a light blue (to me) with a bright green background. Is there any easy way (or any way) to modify these colors? I have played around with the "colors" tab under Edit->Profiles, but I cannot get the colors of the "ls" listing to change. There was one question I found related to changing the color of the display prompt, but that is not what I want.

Joe,

Light blue output from ls, by default, signify executable (rwX), which directories most likely should be.

Bright green background though, I have no explanation/suggestion for that - certainly not like that on my system.

Good luck,
George

Sorry i know what the Bright green background is! That means it's world writable (writable by everyone)! Changing permission of "other" to remove writable will remove the green background.
