Is there a way to export memos from one Evolution to another one?

Asked by marco.pallotta

Is there a way to export memos from one Evolution installation to another (in another PC)?
I have seen that there is "save to disk" command that produces an ics file but then, when you import it, it's seen as a calendar file.

Memos are stored in "~/.evolution/memos/local/system/journal.ics".
Each memo is between words "BEGIN:VJOURNAL" and "END:VJOURNAL".

Else you can select each memo one by one and save it in a file.

I copied the whole ~/.evolution/memos/local/system/journal.ics file into another PC and:
- if I try to import it via evolution import procedure nothing happens (that is it was seen as a calendar file but at the end of the import I don't see any entry neither in the calendar nor in memos nor in tasks)
- if I try to put the file into the right path of the target evolution installation (that is just ~/.evolution/memos/local/system/) I don't see any memos

If it doesn't work, can you tell me, in PC manual, which is the procedure to restore WIndows when there is a problem.
Even if it doesn't work today.

Evolution comes in two part: one client (the software you see) and a daemon you run allways.
The way it manages internal files looks subtil.

You can ask your question at:

    http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
or
    http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-hackers

You should find a guru.

Can you help with this problem?
