Seems as a symptom of something else.
Messages show nothing unusual.

System is updated, package cache empty?
Enough RAM? (min. 384 MB)
e.g. CLI:
free

Any high mem process?
e.g. CLI:
top

## To stop the output just type 'q'.

How to Check if nautilus set up correctly

no answer

Why not let me check Nautilus, to see if the setup is correct?

I use Firefox with many tabs open

I use azureus which increases the memory used after running for longer period

$ nautilus

Setup is made through dpkg.
Not sure if that in fact helps:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure nautilus

Or maybe recursive unset gconf via gconftool e.g.
gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/nautilus

Actually Nautilus isn't considered to be the fastest file browser in universe since it doesn't follow Unix philosophy.
