Punnsa,

EXE files are not native to linux, they are made for Microsoft operating systems. You can use a program called wine to run some, but certainly not all, Windows programs on linux.

Start by installing wine on your system. In Ubuntu software center if you search for wine you should get a result "Wine Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer."

You may want to search for the program you are installing first at http://appdb.winehq.org/ and see the rating for program as well as any specific installation requirements/directions.

From a terminal you can try installing EXE file by entering "wine PROGRAMNAME.EXE" which should bring up the install as it would appear in Windows.

Best of luck,
George
