Why only DVD images of Lucid Beta 2?

Asked by Michael Wood

cdimage.ubuntu.com has only DVD images for Lucid Beta 2:

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/10.04/beta-2/

whereas Beta 1 had CD images as well. I downloaded the Alternate 64 bit CD and wanted to use zsync or one of the other options to update it to Beta 2, but there are only DVD images! I have a monthly 3 Gig cap on my ADSL, which is usual around here (unless you have a lower cap). Yes, I can buy more if I hit the cap, but that costs extra, of course... 4 Gigs is a bit too much to download for me.

I also realise that apt-get will download the necessary updates, but I want to have the CD around for installations and don't want to have to download huge numbers of packages immediately after installation if possible.

I thought maybe the CD images would appear later, but they have not done so yet. Was the plan always only to release DVD images of Beta 2? Or was this an oversight? Or what? :)

Thanks.
