ubuntu doesnt install on my pc

Recently i have received a ubuntu 9.10 cd .during the installation after a few minutes a black screen with some white lines on it appears and nothing proceeds more.my PC is:CPU P4 3.00Ghz,1.5 GB of Ram,the main board has a 64MB on board graphic card and i have installed another 256MB GeForce6200 graphic via a VGA8X slot. the demo faces the same problem. i have also installed ubuntu within windows;in this case installation completes but when i restarted my computer and choose ubuntu from operating system menu again the same broblem occured .

Please tell us what these white text lines say... almost certainly they explain the cause of your error...

They are not text lines But some vertical white lines .

i am almost sure that the problem is with the video card, you will need to install the nvidia propietary drivers, as they are not included in the kernel. try to install the drivers just after installing ubuntu, go to System -> Administration -> Hardware, if you still cant install them install ubuntu using the onboard graphic card, then download the nvidia drivers throught the software center. now you just have to install the videocard.

this is my point of view, this may be the problem, but i am not sure.

i removed the nvidia card and installed ubuntu using the onboard card,and it worked properly. many thanks to sebikul.
