Compatibility with Asus EeePC 1001HA

Asked by Bernhard63

When installing UNR V 9.10 on the mentioned HW WLAN and Microphone are not working from beginning. For WLAN there is a fix available under https://launchpad.net/~markus-tisoft/+archive/rt3090.

For Microphone there is still no solution to my knowledge. Is there any fix in progress or will there be a fix in a new version? If so by when can I hopefully get it?

Thanks for any help

Bernhard

Hi :)

Have you been able to test the new Ubuntu 10.04 before it gets officially released in about 2 or 3 weeks time?
http://www.ubuntulinux.org/testing/lucid/beta1
Trying it as a LiveCd or as an extra dual/multi-boot would be ideal. Developers and everyone are keen to try to iron out any problems before 10.04 gets officially released so you might find faster & more effective answers to your bug reports which would make 10.04 work better on your system for you

Thanks and regards from
Tom :)

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the good advise. I have just tested the V 10.04 with LiveCD. The great news is that now Microphone worked immediately.

The bad thing is that WLAN did not work at all, so no networks were recognized. It's quite strange that the WLAN is not working again since even for the V 9.10 a fix was available under https://launchpad.net/~markus-tisoft/+archive/rt3090?

I wonder if this will be fixed prior to the release of the V10.04, since I would really love to run Ubuntu again on my netbook.

Thanks & best regards

Bernhard

The bug is not fixed in the official 10.04 LTS Release, but if you follow this HowTo:

http://www.halibutdepot.org/how_to_build_rt3090_for_ubuntu_lucid/

I hope that in the 10.10 release the bug is fixed!

Bye,
Lorenzo
