mmc0 unknown controller version (2)

Hello

I am getting a boot message when system boots up from Ubuntu Grub menu. The message is :

0.3563471 mmc0 unknown controller version (2)

This problem occurs in a Dell Vostro 2510. Note the message above about unknown controller version 2 and any possibility of resolutions to fix it.

root@sapserv01:~# lspci | grep SD
08:05.2 SD Host controller: O2 Micro, Inc. Integrated MMC/SD Controller (rev 02)

root@sapserv01:~# lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu lucid (development branch)
Release: 10.04

Can you use the Ubuntu Cd as a LiveCd? Does this work?

I've exactly the same problem. I installed the latest ubuntu lucid beta with kernel 2.6.32.21.

hi :)

Often if you try booting up the LiveCd you find that some boot-options fix problems. These options can then be added in to the regular grub installed on the hard-drive. Please could you try the LiveCd to see if there is an easy combination of boot-options that helps?

Also it might be worth posting this as a bug-report as tehre seems to be some information here that might be useful to the developers. If you do post a bug report please copy the link into here or use the "Link existing bug" feature.

Sorry i haven't been very helpful about this. I was expecting more people to jump in with their ideas for fixing this. Perhaps it is time to re-post the question as LaunchPad has no way of dealing with questions that are more than a couple of days old.
