No display in dell inspiron while installation

I tried to install ubuntu final on my dell inspiron 1464 inside windows 7, i installed the ubuntu inside the windows 7 with a iso image, the space took 12 gb space, after the installation the laptop restarts and rebooting time it showing to select an operating system, i selected ubuntu. Then after the display gone black means the screen goes black, nothing is showing but i understand that the ubuntu completing its installation because the hard drive is working but nothing display is coming.............
whats the problem with dell and ubuntu

It's probably a hardware problem..... Windows would have nothing to do with it since you do not boot it

just boot into ubuntu recovery mode and select third option fix broken packages, then reboot the laptop
