Raid created in Windows 7 - need to setup as raid in ubuntu

I created a raid 0 that was being used only in Windows 7 - Then Windows 7 decided to blow up (several system files became corrupt)

The only question I have is if I setup the software raid in ubuntu, will I have to format the drives and lose all the data? This array was my data store (media.)

as i understand u have software raid .. so, yes it wouldn't support in ubuntu .. but, u can try to boot with ubuntu live cd and take a look on ur disks and try to back-up media.
