after installing ubuntu 9.10 and logging in , it is hanged,not working

i have installed ubuntu 9.10 successfully, but when i login to ubuntu with GNOME mode it works for 5 or 6 seconds and then hanged and does not work. if i restart the pc and log in with GNOME FAILSAFE mode then it works but i cant access to internet (i have a mobile broadband connection).

i have used three diffrent CDs for installing ubuntu 9.10.but the same problem arise every time.

before this i was using 9.04 and it was very good then 9.10

what is the solution please reply as soon as possible

boot into recovery mode...ie second option and thin select the fix broken packages....then login...when your login is successful.type startx

my machine is Intel P4 3.20GHz with BIOSTAR motherboard. 2GB DDR2 RAM & 128MB built-in graphics.
Why Ubuntu 9.10 remains hang after log in? my problem is not solved yet
