Is udevinfo tool missing or what?
I'm not able to locate this useful udev-related tool.

Depends which one you mean.
gnome-volume-manager isn't available anymore in Lucid repos.

Since Karmic it's Palimpsest (system administration -> disk utility)

udevinfo is (used to be) a command line tool to be used in scripts and the likes.
It looks like it has been superseded by udevadm(8).
It's really weird that there's no o very little documentation about this.

Manpage also says already since Hardy udevadm.
