What do I need to install windows based programs,ie. SIMS?

Every time I try to install the Sims game on my ubuntu sys. I get a message saying invalid mounting option and that's it. It won't install the game. I need simple instructions on what to do. Thanks

Right. Windows apps don't run in Linux/Ubuntu since it's not windows. It would be like trying to run a Mac program on windows. However, there is a program called wine that will let you install and run some windows programs.

However, it looks like maybe sims doesn't run in wine.

Most of the data isn't very new so I don't know if you'll have better luck with wine in feisty but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

You could also set up a windows virtual machine but it's probably easier to just reboot into windows when you want to play games.
