Logitech DiNovo Edge bluetooth keyboard not working since an update applied to Lucid Lynx.

Asked by jamiepedder on 2010-03-30

After doing an update via update manager on Lucid Lynx, and then rebooting, my bluetooth keyboard is no longer functioning. I now have a bluetooth symbol in the system tray which I didnt have before, and when I go to type on the keyboard, I get a message saying something about grant access and some form of mac address is displayed.

I have tried to both grant and deny access with the same result - no working keyboard. I even tried to pair the device using the icon that is now in the system tray, with no luck.

I also tried removing bluetooth software via synaptic and reinstalling with no change. I also tried booting to a previous version of the kernel to see if that was causing issues, with no change. It appears that a configuration file somewhere may be causing the issue, but I dont know where to start looking.

I have a PS2 keyboard that works fine, and to be honest I dont mind waiting till the next beta and then just reinstall if necessary but I would like to try and resolve this, if only to understand more of what is going on.

Any help would be appreciated.

Jamie

Logitech bluetooth dongle seems now to be working as normal bluetooth adapter. Just push connect button in keyboard, click bluetooth icon, select "Set up new device..." and choose your keyboard from the list. Works perfectly for me and I don't need another bluetooth dongle anymore!

I will try this when I get home tonight as I now have to pair up every time I boot which is annoying. To even log in I have to use the on screen keyboard. Not ideal but gets me in eventually lol

Can you help with this problem?
