i cant install ubuntu again it tells me to check a file i dont have.

Asked by kilua zoldiek

so im uninstalling ubuntu and there was a problem, that im sad i didnt read... as i try to uninstall again, windows vista said it MAY had been already uninstalled so i removed it from the list of programs... i was pumped and ready to install again, but it said it was already installed so i removed it from the disk i have os on, and installed again...it said it ´´couldnt download the metalink, therefore the ISO´´ and told me to check C/users/my user/app data/ local/ temp/ubuntu.wubi.rev160.log or something(i checked but i did not have the ´´local´´ folder)..i have not been past that since then, which is like a month ago, i cannot install and i was starting to get exited!!! now when i try to install( without internet) it tell me it ´´couldnt download the metalink, therefore the ISO´´ this didnt happen the first time...and when i install connected to the net, it does install but cant boot it says something about TABS and commands and i never get past that..

better download the ubuntu iso image from ubuntu.com here is the link
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
and install from CD after burning there should not be any problem....and keep recovery disk of vista in case of mbr faces problem..

done..thaks man, next time ill make sure i try every single way..the only thought i could call feedback is the fact that i installed instantly after i downloaded, which highlights the probabily that this happens mostly when installed like that....cause i tried again with no disk and it said permission denied...installing it with no disk seems more vulnerable or im thinking too much..

Hi Shaz...
There must be some burning problem or what you burnt is corrupt copy....better wait for 2 more days tomorrow ubuntu 10.04 is being released so get the latest version ie ubuntu 10.04 and then install it....
Thanks
