Lighter Version of Open Office Impress

Asked by NYGFan

Hi. After installing Lucid (Beta 1) my computer runs really slow (its like 5 years old) so I would like to use a 'lighter' version of impress to create and edit pp presentations. I use Abiword and Gnumeric, so something light like that would be very much appreciated. Thanks

ps: Ubuntu, ftw

If the OS is slow then use a lioghter desktop. LXDE is very light as is XFCE, Gnome and KDE are quite bulky (yet feature rich) and are not great on older hardware.

Abiword and Gnumeric are fantastic choices for lower hardware over the bloat of OpenOffice there is Agnubis for powerpoint like functionality but its not on the repo so will require some form of compilation.
