Issue with Skype 2.1 (beta) on Ubuntu 9.10

Asked by MBHAKM

Hello

Installing skype 2.1 beta version from http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/skype/linux/ (Ubuntu 8.10+ 32-bit)
does not works on Ubuntu 9.10. There is an issue with the sound devices, which shows pulse audio (local).
Previous version was working properly on Ubuntu 9.04.
Anyone knows exact solution or resolution to fix Skype on Ubuntu 9.10..

Please advise...

I had remove pulse audio and added esound.
Now On Skype, Sound Devices, which shows now for Microphone, Speakers and Ringing as "Default Device" (default). There are also other selectable options, which is as : HDA Intel, ALC268 Analog, hdmi. But when a call establish between 2, other caller cannot hear my voice but i can hear his voice clearly. Also Video works excellent.

Please advise any workaround for my outgoing calls.

With Regards,

have you selected microphone in alsa mixer,
the best thing will be record your own voice with sound recorder and configure your microphones till you are satisfied with the speech level then only go for voice chatting/ talking through skype

Can you help with this problem?
