vuze - upload problems

Asked by nickc78

I am running Vuze V4.3.1.4 on Karmic. I have found that whilst I have no problems with downloads I am experiencing almost zero bytes in uploads. Usually this would not bother me too much but my main torrents are via a couple of subscribed trackers where I need to maintain a good ratio. It's not uncommon that some of these torrents are not being leeched by many people for long but I don't think I can recall a single torrent that has uploaded more than a few meg and the last few I have seeded zero bytes. I never experienced this issue when using utorrent on Vista. I have run the Vuze speedtest and firewall test and all seems to be set-up ok - anyone have any thoughts on anything else I could check?

Hi,
it be because of two reasons:
1) Check for Connectivity issues. If your NAT/Firewall test says:
Testing port XXXXX ... NAT Error. then you need to open ports in Firewall or router. see --> http://wiki.vuze.com/w/NAT_problem

2) No peers: torrent clients are designed to download from seeders that are fastest. perhaps torrent you are running have seeders who are more faster than you, hence other clients choose them over you. run a good torrent to test(http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Good_torrent)

Vuze is a Third Party software and is not officially supported by Ubuntu. for better support you should contact Vuze[1].

This did not quite solve my issue - but with a bit more digging I realised that I was pointing to the wrong static IP address in my port mapping on my router!
