Asked by Jeff

I have a file that has gone missing and might have been accidentally deleted. Is there a way to recover/undelete it? Using Karmic/9.10

Not really, you could use foremost to recover data. If the file is a sysyem config file I can give you a copy of mine. If t is a user data file (an image or music file) then simply restore from your backups (assuming you have one)

I was afraid of that. Unfortunately the backup is missing also (quite a feat since they are/were on seperate drives. Thanks for the help.

Just to make sure, have you checked your trash folder? You can restore from there. Otherwise actionparsnip is right.

Yes, I checked but was not that lucky. Will look into Foremost.
