crashed and now cannot start

doesn't start up and, msg shows :

gnu grub version 1.97~beta4

Ubuntu,Linux 2.6.31-14 generic
Ubuntu,Linux 2.6.31-14 generic (recovery mode)
Memory test (memtest 86+)
Memory test (memtest 86+), serial console 115200)

The problem is now resolved now, many thanks. (From USB option on boot being dragged to top from bios menu).

I have just changed OS and I think there are few probs due to previous MS
