When you write LT do you mean LTS (Long term Support)?

Its not necessarily better, its just supported for longer than the interim releases. Some extra effort is made to make it super stable but they use the same repository servers as the other releases but will simply have mopre time before they "die out". Intrepid Ibex is due to cease support next month but it coincides with the release of Lucid Lynx.

Hope this helps

No...donot wait because ubuntu 9.10 is a quite stable and new versions have many bugs which keeps coming and being rectified by the developers ...still it takes 3-4 months for making it quite stable...whereas ubuntu 9.10 has lived almost 5 months and I feel should be used as a stable release now.

9.10 is EOL in April 2011 so I wouldn't sweat it
