unable to enable wireless from network manager

Asked by thenubsauce

I was trying to get aircrack to work by removing avahi-deamon. I don't remember what I did to avahi, but when I look under synaptic, it is still installed. Packet injection worked, and when I stopped using it and tried to use my wireless again, I wasn't able to right click on the icon and "enable wireless" When I type in lshw I can see my wireless card is disabled

*-network DISABLED
                description: Wireless interface

                configuration: broadcast=yes driver=ath9k latency=0 multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11bgn

I've turned off monitor mode with airmon-ng and when I try ifconfig wlan0 up, it gives me an error (ifconfig wlan0 down doesn't give an error, if that helps)

SIOCSIFFLAGS: Unknown error 132

I hope I've provided all the information that would be helpful. Thanks in advance

I reinstalled ubuntu twice and it didn't fix the problem, so I figured it was a hardware issue. Before ubuntu booted, I checked the bios settings (i'm not sure if its call that) and I noticed that my wireless card was disabled there, so I just enabled it and it worked.
