from what i read about your laptop the os will be locked , and not be able to be changed . you might try talking with optimus tech support .

window 7 is the only one that has driver`s for the system . your laptop was not made for the just the average user. you can do a google`s search and find more info about your laptop .

sorry i could not help you get ubuntu installed .

sweetyuu7 still has the problem ,how knows how to install ubuntu on this laptop

. If you want to run Linux and you want to use a discrete GPU, Optimus Technology won't work. Perhaps some skilled Linux community folks can figure out a way to do Optimus-like technology on their own, but given the level of detail required to interface with the GPU and IGP we see that as unlikely.
if linux does get installed the geek effects will be lost .

have you tried wubi (windows ubuntu installer) inside windows environment ?
if not try that...what I feel it should get installed whether through cd or wubi on legacy drivers.... that is my feeling and i have my system with about 7 OSs loaded and all are working fine (of ccourse Nvidia drivers don't work...)but legacy drivers are good enough for me... .
the OS on my system with two hdd are
ubuntu 10.04, ubuntu 9.10 windows XP SP3, windows 7
and on the other hdd Kubuntu 10.04, Windows XP SP2 and Windows 98
